Backup and import

Your notes live in this browser (and in your account, if you sync). Attachments are only in backups. Export a backup now and then, especially before clearing browser data or switching devices.

Import from Google Keep

1. Go to takeout.google.com, click Deselect all, tick Keep only, and create the export.
2. Download the .zip Google emails you.
3. Choose that .zip here (or the .json files from its Takeout/Keep folder).

Keeps titles, text, checklists, colors, pins, archive and trash, labels (as #tags), links and dates. Notes you've already imported are skipped. Everything is read on your device; nothing is uploaded.

Tags

Type #idea anywhere in a note. Tags appear in the sidebar so you can filter by them.

Links between notes

Type [[Note title]] to link to another note. The linked note lists it under "Linked from".

Web links

Paste any https:// address and it becomes clickable.

Keyboard

Esc or Ctrl+Enter saves and closes. Ctrl+B / I / U format text. Start a line with • or 1. and Enter continues the list.

Can I install it like an app?

In Chrome or Edge, use Install at the bottom of Settings (or the install icon in the address bar). On iPhone, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen.
